A cystoscopy is a procedure that allows the visualization of the bladder as well as the urethra using a tool known as a cystoscope. A cystoscope has a long, slender “neck” with a small camera on the end that is inserted past the urethra and into the bladder allowing Dr. Shakiba to evaluate the lining and structure of the bladder. Dr. Shakiba typically performed cystoscopy on his patients in a same-day surgery site in Clifton, New Jersey while the patient is under IV sedation.
